MORE THAN JUST AN AD:RESEARCH

BLACK WOMAN HAIR AD This is a hair ad by Pantene for black women hair.   The reason why I used this hair ad is because it is relatable. This is because my hair is not the typical hair shown in all these adverts.  My hair is VERY hard to comb,it gets tangled, it gets dry easily, it's very sensitive, it shrinks. you have to invest time, money, energy and be prepared for a lot of pain.it needs more attention than the typical hair. however, I don't see adverts on my hair type showing instant fixes or easy way out or tips and tricks.  Most hair company adverts mainly focus on specific hair type and texture and I think it's unfair.  Hair ads should give you hope that your hair can be better and your hair can be the way you want. yet most hair companies have totally ignored the fact that not all hair is the same. I am very happy that there are hair companies like this. The hair is the richest ornament of women.- Martin Luther

FINAL WORK ON SEQUENTIAL IMAGES

This is post is to show the final work on the sequential images I created. FINAL RESULT!! This collage was achieved using  pixlr  editor. I organised the photos in a specific order so that it can be viewed from front to back and vice versa. I am really proud of my work. however, while editing I realized I should have taken the pictures all from the same angle so they can look more identical but I couldn't redo the pictures cause I had already eaten all the grapes. Reflection:  I am really proud of my work. However, while editing I realized I should have taken the pictures all from the same angle so they can look more identical but I couldn't redo the pictures cause I had already eaten all the grapes.

SEQUENTIAL IMAGES SAMPLE

I had a plethora of ideas I wanted to display however the definition of sequential images after thorough research influenced my decision. For this project, I used an app called  '' Snapchat''  to take the pictures and edit them; crop and colour them with the filter called sephia..  which ended up being more convenient for me. As mentioned in my previous post, I am interested in using sequential images to portray fun. The fun part of this experience was eating the grapes and also seeing the sequence of the images form. These set of sequential pictures were inspired by Duane Michals  "The dream of flowers"  where he kept adding more flowers to the same face in each picture. ,  I kept eating the green grapes which I preferred more until they were nearly finished, then I started eating the black ones until there was nothing left. The sequence in this image will be the reduction in the quantity of the food

RESEARCH ON SEQUENTIAL IMAGES

Sequential  art  is the use of  images  in a specific order for the purpose of storytelling, conveying information or showing motion. In this post,I will be talking about a man often regarded as one of the fathers of motion pictures; Eadweard Muybridge source: Boys playing frog By Eadweard Muybridge (1830–1904) Born on 9 April 1830 in England  , Muybridge is one of the most influential photographers of all time. He created world-famous images of animals and humans in motion through sequential images. Eadweard Muybridge  is one of the many artists that have used this form of art. HORSE IN MOTION He  proved that a galloping horse lifts all four hooves off the ground at one point in the sequence of motion.  Unfortunately, he died on 8 May 1904 at the age 74. T he first picture shows boys playing leapfrog which in my opinion  portrays childhood, innocence, fun, friendship and lots more. The pictures in black and white further emphasize the rawness of the photograph and the
