‘Little Miss Sunshine’ Movie review.
In this post,we will be reviewing a scene from the movie ‘Little Miss Sunshine’.
The link to the clip is right here Little Miss Sunshine . I will be describing what the clip is about and what others thought of the movie then i will give my opinion on the movie so please stick with me.if you are interested in watching the movie i will insert the link to the trailer below.
I didn't watch the full movie,i only watched a clip in class and the movie trailer therefore i will give my opinion on what i believe the movie is about and i will give a movie description of someone that has watched the movie which i will get online.
The movie was directed by the married couple Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris and was release in 2006. The short clip I watched conveyed a dysfunctional family of five that supports each other regardless of the social implication;olive-a lovely seven year old girl who was trying to win the pageant- dance routine was different from the other participants and although the audience and even the judges were trying to get her off the stage she was brave enough and she was supported by her family to continue her performance even though it must have been embarrassing to go through all that.
The IMBD website has a section for people who have watched movies and want to share the summary of the film they watched so i went there to get a summary from someone that has watched the movie.
'' When 7 year-old Olive Hoover learns that she's qualified for the the little Miss Sunshine contest the entire family sets off in their VW camper van for the trip from Albuquerque to California. The family includes her reasonably sane mother Sheryl; her father Richard, a motivational speaker who is stressing over whether his book will be published; her brother Dwayne who is into Nietzsche and has taken a vow of silence and hasn't said a word in 9 months; her grandpa Edwin Hoover who likes to cuss; and her uncle Frank Ginsburg - Sheryl's brother - who recently tried to commit suicide. Along the way, the van breaks down, Richard learns his book won't be published and they forget Olive at a gas station. They face grief along the way but they get Olive to the pageant on time - even if the pageant itself doesn't quite go as planned.''- garykmcd,a plot author on IMBD.
This summary made me understand more about the movie but i also wanted to get other people's opinion about the movie. So i went to other websites to get reviews
There were good reviews like
''Odd and unique at the same time , great independent film. A must see. I give it a 91%''-anonymous comenter.
''Beautiful movie about life and family, about with very deep and human characters we can relate to, and a heartwarming story.''-anonymous comenter
During my research i also found some bad reviews from parents did not like the movie.
Little Miss Sunshine
''This was an amazing movie, but it has too much swearing, drug references and talk about sex and suicide for kids under 17''-fr0stedshad0w
''This is an awful awful movie that no child should ever be subjected to. I am totally shocked that it is in a recommendation area of this site and I am questioning their integrity to have included this movie to ANYONE. Sleazy pornography obsessed paedophilia relatives and a heart wrenching treatment of human beings from smallest to oldest. It made me sick, and made me sad for our culture and society that this movie even got made. Please Please do not show this to your children of ANY age. SICK and TWISTED. Not kidding here, I am a staunch advocate of free speech but a big proponent of keeping our kids away from the seedy side of life at all costs.''-generic name mom
''I watched this movie with an open mind, but really didn't enjoy it at all. I realize that not all movies have to have a message, but this movie wasn't funny either. A dysfunctional family (to say the least) travels across the country to have their daughter participate in the Little Miss Sunshine pageant. The family was very concerned to get their daughter to the pageant on time, but only the drug addicted grandfather took the time to prepare her -- of course, a recipe for disaster. The daughter was embarrassed at the end, which was "solved" in the movie by the family making complete idiots of themselves. I found no value in the movie at all -- not entertaining and a total waste of time.''-hockey mommy
After reading the comments of people with different opinions i think we can all say they are arguably right to an extent. Honestly, when i watched the clip i felt slightly repulsed during the part where she was tearing her clothes off because i have a younger sister and i won't want her to do such in public.

I wish I had watched the full movie because i would have been able to give more personal opinions in the review of the movie.
Olive's confidence is inspiring therefore I will try to be more brave and out spoken. I will do this by expressing my self more in my blog and also in my other modules.
I think you have got the idea here with the research so well done. Your formatting again needs sorting out to remove highlighting - we can discuss this in class.
